Our Ingredient Standards

COSMOS NATURAL certification means every ingredient we use is audited against one of the most rigorous frameworks in global cosmetics. Raw materials are assessed for environmental impact, manufacturing processes are reviewed, and the final formula must meet strict natural-origin thresholds — verified independently, not self-declared. Our formulas are developed under the EU precautionary principle, which restricts over 1,600 substances from cosmetics compared to roughly eleven in the US. We follow these standards not as a marketing choice, but because we believe they represent the baseline of what responsible skincare should look like.

Bidens Pilosa is a flowering plant with a long history of traditional use across multiple continents, now supported by peer-reviewed research for its cosmetic benefits. Where conventional retinol is known for visible results but also for redness, peeling, and sun sensitivity, Bidens Pilosa extract offers a gentler approach — skin appears visibly smoother and fine lines look softened, without the harsh adjustment period. It is suitable for sensitive skin and safe for daytime use, making it a practical choice for those who want the visible benefits associated with retinol without the trade-offs.

We believe in full transparency about what goes into our products — and what doesn't.

  • × Parabens — synthetic preservatives restricted under COSMOS standards.
  • × Mineral oil — a petroleum byproduct; we use plant-derived emollients instead.
  • × PEGs (polyethylene glycols) — synthetic emulsifiers prohibited in COSMOS NATURAL formulas.
  • × Synthetic fragrance — we scent exclusively with natural essential oils.
  • × Formaldehyde releasers — banned under EU regulations and absent from all our formulas.
  • × Oxybenzone — a synthetic UV filter with environmental concerns.

It means our formulas are independently audited by ECOCERT Greenlife against the COSMOS standard — one of the most recognised natural cosmetics frameworks in the world. This covers ingredient sourcing, manufacturing processes, packaging, and labelling. Third-party verified, not self-declared.

Peer-reviewed studies show that Bidens Pilosa extract helps reduce the visible appearance of fine lines and helps skin appear visibly smoother. It does not work identically to retinol — it is a different ingredient with a different mechanism. What it shares is a visible outcome. What it avoids is the redness, peeling, and photosensitivity commonly associated with conventional retinol.

Under international INCI labelling rules, even natural essential oil blends must be declared as Parfum or Fragrance. Our scent comes exclusively from Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil — all naturally occurring components are individually listed on our labels for full transparency.

Our Overnight Cream is specifically formulated without essential oils or added fragrance, making it our most gentle option. We always recommend a patch test before introducing any new product, regardless of formulation.

A single asterisk means the ingredient comes from organic farming. A double asterisk means it was made using organic ingredients. A triple asterisk indicates a component naturally present in essential oils — listed individually for transparency, as required by EU allergen labelling regulations.
